Project: House in Kamesznica (2025)
Building an energy-efficient house in difficult, mountainous terrain is always a challenge for the investor. In this project, we prove that modern timber frame houses in Silesia and the Żywiec region can be built quickly, durably, and without compromise. We present a custom house project with a usable area of 50 m² (88 m² with a basement), completed in the charming village of Kamesznica.
Realization of the Ekodom70 timber frame house in Pietrzykowice

The realization of a timber frame house is a process that requires precise planning at every stage, from earthworks to the final interior finishing. In Pietrzykowice, we undertook the construction of the Ekodom70 model, which is an excellent example of how full functionality for a family of four can be achieved on a relatively small usable area. This investment, carried out on a turnkey basis.
Timber frame house on a slope in Międzybrodzie Bialskie

The realization of a construction investment in mountainous terrain, such as Międzybrodzie Bialskie, always presents a challenge, especially when the project involves adapting an existing building structure. We will discuss the process of erecting a building using timber frame technology – a model based on the Ekodom50 system, which was placed on a historic ground floor. As the person responsible for supervising the correctness of the technology and energy optimization, I will guide you through the key design decisions: from the static analysis of the old ceiling, through the selection of thermal insulation, to the specifics of installing window and door joinery to a passive standard. I will focus on facts, figures, and execution details that determine the durability and energy efficiency of modern wooden houses.

Building a house in mountainous terrain - the project in Cięcina presented us with challenges that go beyond standard construction procedures. The Ekodom 110 project, which we had to adapt, needed to be fitted onto an extremely difficult plot, where a historic foundation of an old barn already existed. We describe each stage of this investment – from assessing the foundation risk, through battling the winter weather, to finishing details like the Janosik metal sheet or the complex heating system. This is not a story about an ideal construction site; it is a case study on how modern engineering meets the harsh nature of the Beskids.
